The meeting focused on key priorities for strengthening India’s plastics industry and enhancing its global competitiveness, including:

• Strengthening the finished plastics sector to integrate India into Global Value Chains and support the goal of doubling exports by 2047 by evolving "Make in India".

• Possibility of evolving Cluster Development Scheme to enhance competitiveness and infrastructure.

• Addressing the industry’s manpower needs through CIPET centres at major production hubs like Vapi, Rajkot.

• Supporting deemed export pricing for raw materials to improve cost competitiveness of domestic manufacturers.

PIF appreciates the valuable guidance and support extended by Shri Tejveer Singh, Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals and looks forward to continued collaboration towards making the Indian plastics industry more competitive, sustainable and globally integrated.
